Christmas Jumper Swap 13th November 2021

Charity Christmas Jumper Swap Shop at Troqueer Church Centre.

Where?
This will take place on the afternoon of the 13th November at 2pm and the Church Centre is the building next to the Church.

How can I donate?
We are now accepting donations of Christmas jumpers which can be handed in at Troqueer Church during the next two Sunday Services(31st October and 7th November). There will also be a Jumper collection at Troqueer Primary School which will be notified via the School App.

What kind of jumpers are we looking for?
They must be clean (please wash Jumper) and in wearable condition. They can be any size from very small kids up to Adult jumpers, and should have Christmas/Winter/Nordic theme. We will also accept t-shirts/sweat shirts/hoodies/cardigans with a similar Christmas/Winter/Nordic theme. Please only donate items you no longer want. Once you have donated them, you probably won’t be able to get it back. We hope that you will find another Jumper on the day, but we can’t guarantee that you will find one that you like or that fits you. However, you will be able to get a cuppa and some home baking.

Which charity?
All proceeds at the door will go to to Cancer Research UK. You can decide how much you want to give. We hope you will agree that this is a very worthy charity. Many people in our church family have been affected by this disease and we want to do our bit to help.

How many jumpers can I take?
If you have donated one Jumper, please take one. If you have donated three for yourself and other family members, please take three. You get the idea. Hopefully, there will be enough to go round this way.

Anything else?
We have decided to have Kids Christmas book stall too. We are looking for donations of any second hand kids Christmas books which are in good useable condition, for example, ‘10 Little Christmas Elves’ or ‘Santa is coming to Scotland’. If your kids have grown out of these books it would be nice to pass them on so more kids can enjoy them.

Environmental benefit?
It is no coincidence that we are holding this event around the time of the COP26 summit. Every year, many Christmas jumpers are thrown out and end up in landfill sites. We would like to encourage recycling and thought this would be a great way to hold a community event, and also a nice way to give to charity too.

Covid safe?
On entry we will need you to wear a mask(unless exempt) and to sanitise your hands. We will need to take a name and a contact number for each party for track and trace purposes. These will only be kept as long as we are required to for track and trace and will then be destroyed. Windows will be opened to keep good ventilation. Teas/coffees/cake etc will be by table service only to avoid cross infection.

Allergy safety.
Please advise a server if you have a food allergy.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 13th November!
